Prof. Dr. Metin Küçükkaya

Metin Küçükkaya was born in 1969. After graduating from the medical faculty in 1992, he began to show an interest toward lengthening and deformity surgery in adults and children. Over the next fifteen years he continued to focus intensively on classical Ilizarov surgeries including complex foot deformities, as well as a special cable bone transport technique and retrograde lengthening over nail technique he later developed. His special interests include Orthopedic Trauma and treatment of bone infections and mal-nonunions, limb length discrepancies, and congenital deformities involving lengthening nails, hexapod system, and deformity plates. He also participates in various projects designed for the improvement of these devices (http://synoste.com). Dr. Metin Küçükkaya contributed as an organizer (http://www.3dsurgeryistanbul.com/) or speaker to numerous national and international congresses on lengthening and deformity and Orthopedic Trauma, especially regarding minimally invasive bone operations. He was appointed as Professor in Istanbul Bilim University’s Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2010. He is currently part of “Ortopedist Istanbul” (ortopedist.com.tr), a group of Orthopedic surgeons working in the area of orthopedic trauma, arthroplasty, sports medicine, and the spine.
