Nonunion and Osteomyelitis

Nonunion is a condition that affects one's quality of life, comfort and even social life in a negative way. In addition to losing the ability to work, it adversely affects the patient's loved ones. Depression is also an issue for people who are suffering with nonunions. Their confidence in physicians as well as medical treatments can also be shaken. However after successful treatment, all these negative issues fade away and the person forgets about this unpleasant period and goes on to live his or her life.

If a fracture does not heal within the expected time frame (6-9 months) or does not show any progress in healing within a 3-month period, it can be considered a nonunion.

Sometimes if the fracture shows no signs of healing, it is necessary to move forward with treatment.
